Chum-Line Days are Numbered.......

The Chum Line was created to fill a void on the website by being more accessible to update quickly. However, the good news is that we have built a new site through Google, which allows us to update quickly and efficiently for the team.

Visitors to the old website will find a message and link redirecting them to the new location.
Please bookmark the NEW site for your convenience.
Although there is a detailed navigation bar on the left hand side of the website; team members may appreciate the following links for immediate access:

Some pages are awaiting revised information and will be updated within the next couple of weeks. Sometimes information may not by filled with all the bells and whistles but at least it will be accurate and timely.
Updated team information can be found on the
Please note this replaces the ChumLine which will be removed within the next week or two.

Thursday, September 11th:
Ages 8 & under - 6:00-6:30 pm

2008-09 Fall-Winter Swim Season

For Returning Sharks:
A $100 deposit is due to the YMCA by August 22, to secure your spot on the team and guarantee the appropriate training group suited for you. In years past, we would set up training groups based on our deposits only to find out later that other swimmers were returning. This would lead to some descrepancies in practice groups and also over-crowding of lanes.

In every effort to alleviate the overcrowding of lanes, all deposits must be in before the Y closes down to re-grout the pool. In addition, we see a significant rise in tryouts during an Olympic Year, therefore, we need to know our team and what is available before tryouts begin. We will be assigning training groups based on deposits by August 22nd.

It was a bittersweet day at Harvard as our first combined relay/team of Attleboro and Melrose performed very respectable in the water at Open Championships. As we open a new chapter for the YMASS Rebels, we must also close a chapter for others. Captain Sully swam in her last meet for the Melrose YMCA. She has dedicated herself to our team throughtout the years and most notable the last 4 as Captain. She is a rare person in today's day who not only led by example but she did it both in and out of the water. As we bid farewell to you, we wish you the very best in your college years at UMASS Amherst and know that your dedication and work ethic will serve you well. We will look forward to your visits when you return to town.
